The Founder and Grandmaster instructor of the Dojang at Alpha Omega Martial Arts. It is his stated mission to motivate, inspire, and transform the lives of those who choose the martial arts to improve themselves. He started his journey of teaching youth through the martial arts in 1989 and has never looked back. Seeking to develop young men and women by testing them in key life principles, and challenging them emotionally and physically through martial arts training to apply them; the results are not only internalized but also externalized in their day to day lives. Creating this method of teaching has been more than a task, it’s been a sacrifice of time and love. It’s not about simply about training the physical, but also about expanding the mental comprehensions, and exploring the emotional depths of our lives.
Background & Experience
Grandmaster Rowe has been mentoring youth formally and informally for almost 30 years and has been training in the martial arts almost 45 years. His martial arts training has included: wrestling, boxing, Taekwondo, Judo, Hapkido (both Combat Hapkido & Traditional Hapkido), Modern Arnis, Okinawan Karate & Weapons, and a study of swordsmanship. In addition to ancient weapons training he has trained in modern marksmanship with both sidearms and long rifle.
Grandmaster Rowe has often stated that "I’ve always been confounded by how a martial artist can be a Black Belt in a Dojang, but stay a white belt in life." How does a martial artist gracefully control attackers with great ease, yet cannot mentally overcome more than one stressor in their life? It’s truly meaningless if a person has great skills in a martial art, but lack the sacrificial love, power, integrity and discipline that only comes from a martial heart. He is not only committed to the martial arts, but even more so he is committed to saving the lives of our youth. Training the physical body is of some value, but training for compassion is of value in every way, benefitting now and the life to come.
